  • men wore loosly fitting styles
  • hose made of wool were introduced
  • short tunics were worn with large sleeves called houppelande's
  • royal women of France wore sideless surcotes and false hanging sleeves were popular
  • jewelry, head coverings and hanging purses were brought into the womans wordrobe
  • late 14th century-men wore codpiece's with a pouch in the front similar to a jockstrap
  • houppelands became shorter
  • 15th century-gowns for women were elaborate with deep v-necks
