Fortuny was known for hte Delphos dress (higher waistline and slender skirts)
men and women wore dusters (long jackets, protective hats and goggles) while riding in open cars
WWI 1914-1918
War provided clothing be more practical
Skirts shortned and widened, day and evening dresses
Post-war slender lines served as transition into next decade
Mens style changes were less dramatic
War items made their way into regular life such as wristwatches
Small boys were less likely to wear skirts
Childrens clothing was more comfortable
