  • Fortuny was known for hte Delphos dress (higher waistline and slender skirts)
  • men and women wore dusters (long jackets, protective hats and goggles) while riding in open cars
  • WWI 1914-1918
  • War provided clothing be more practical
  • Skirts shortned and widened, day and evening dresses
  • Post-war slender lines served as transition into next decade
  • Mens style changes were less dramatic
  • War items made their way into regular life such as wristwatches
  • Small boys were less likely to wear skirts
  • Childrens clothing was more comfortable
