Old/Middle/New Egypt

(3000 B.C.-600 B.C.)

The Egyptian civilization grew up along the Nile river.
Animals were considered unclean so the textile of choice was linen.
Men and women wore tunics. Old Kingdom wore knee length skirts, Middle wore them to the ankle and New Kingdom people wore full or fitted skirts.
Pleating showed symbols of status and jewelry held spiritual connections.
Beards were a symbol of God and power as were headdress and make-up
